This year’s Emirates Dubai 7s will build on its commitment to delivering & a more sustainable festival experience. Below highlights some of the enhanced & sustainability initiatives that have been introduced to the festival this year:

SOLAR ENERGY

Emirates Dubai 7s is committed to utilising solar energy as much as possible to power the event. The solar carpark at The Sevens Stadium features 4,500 solar panels, providing shaded parking for more than 550 vehicles, including 4 electric vehicle charging stations.

In just three years, the venue has generated around 12.4 million kWh of clean energy, cutting our carbon emissions by 1,500 tons or approximately 4,500 tons since the system was installed, the equivalent of 128,500 trees.

Merchandise and event clothing

Through our partnership with local, sustainable sportswear brand, Reflo, we are able to ensure all merchandise and event gear uses recycled and responsibly sourced materials.

All operational staff, including invitational officials, will be kitted out in exclusive Emirates Dubai 7s X Reflo clothing.

Reflo has also committed to planting a tree for every item purchased or produced for Emirates Dubai 7s.

WATER REFILL STATIONS & SUSTAINABLE DINING

Reduction in single-use plastics

Dubai 7s 2025 will be offering more filtered water refill stations on site than ever before to promote a continued

46 refillable filtered water stations will be available across the Dubai 7s site for athletes, staff and ticketholders to avail free filtered water throughout the weekend.

Visitors will also benefit from reusable cups and sustainable cutlery supplied in partnership with Emirates Leisure & Retail and MMI

Athlete water bottles

Invitational athletes across all sports as well as the HSBC SVNS players, will be provided with reusable water bottles to use and refill as required throughout their tournaments. Bottles can be recycled at the end of the festival or kept by athletes for future use.
